Invitation for Submissions

ARISTHA: Ar-Risalah Journal of Islamic Tourism and Hospitality is pleased to invite scholars, researchers, academics, and practitioners from Indonesia and around the world to submit original scholarly manuscripts for its inaugural issue, scheduled for publication in December 2026.

ARISTHA is an interdisciplinary, open-access scholarly journal dedicated to advancing research, critical inquiry, and academic discourse in Islamic tourism, halal tourism and hospitality, sharia tourism law, and related disciplines.

The journal welcomes theoretically informed, methodologically rigorous, and practically relevant contributions that address contemporary developments and challenges in tourism and hospitality from Islamic and interdisciplinary perspectives.

Focus and Scope

We welcome manuscripts addressing, but not limited to, the following areas:

  1. Islamic Tourism and Religious Tourism: Muslim-friendly tourism, pilgrimage tourism, Islamic cultural heritage, and religious destinations.

  2. Halal Tourism and Hospitality: Halal hospitality management, service quality, halal certification, customer experience, and tourism destination management.

  3. Sharia Tourism Law and Governance: Islamic jurisprudence, tourism regulations, sharia compliance, legal frameworks, and institutional governance.

  4. Sustainable Tourism: Responsible tourism, environmental sustainability, community-based tourism, and ethical tourism development.

  5. Tourism Economics and Business: Islamic tourism economics, halal entrepreneurship, tourism marketing, business innovation, and consumer behavior.

  6. Digital Tourism and Technology: Digital transformation, tourism information systems, artificial intelligence, and technological innovation in tourism and hospitality.

  7. Interdisciplinary Research: Studies integrating tourism and hospitality with Islamic studies, law, economics, management, social sciences, and public policy.

Manuscript Categories

ARISTHA welcomes original research articles, conceptual papers, and scholarly literature reviews that contribute to the advancement of knowledge within the journal's focus and scope.

All manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not simultaneously under consideration by another journal.

Peer Review and Editorial Standards

All submissions undergo an initial editorial screening to assess their relevance, originality, scholarly quality, and compliance with the journal's publication policies.

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are evaluated through a double-anonymous peer review process involving at least two independent reviewers.

Final editorial decisions are based on scholarly merit, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, and the journal's editorial standards.

ARISTHA is committed to equitable access to scholarly publication.

All publication services are provided free of charge:

No submission fee or article processing charge is required.
