This research aims to find out Buying and Selling (Bai Al Salam), Islamic Legal Principles in Bai Al Salam, Bai Al Salam in Modern Trade Practice and Challenges and Obstacles in the Implementation of Bai Al Salam. The method used in this study is library research. The results of the study show that first, according to Hanafiah scholars, buying and selling has two definitions, namely the definition of buying and selling is specific and the definition of buying and selling is general. The special buying and selling is selling goods with currencies such as gold and silver. The second is general, namely exchanging goods for goods according to certain provisions. Second, Sharia principles regulate the relationship between banks and other parties to deposit funds and/or finance business activities, or for other activities that are considered in accordance with sharia, based on Islamic law (Al-Quran and Sunnah). Third, the practice of buying and selling modern greetings is the buying and selling of orders which are now widely carried out by the wider community. Greetings in modern times are increasingly prevalent among the community because the system used is very easy, fast, cheap, and also more practical. Fourth, There are many factors that can cause the non-implementation of the salam contract in the world of Islamic banking, including the lack of understanding of banking practitioners about the application of the salam contract, the lack of knowledge and public awareness of the ins and outs of Islamic banks, and the magnitude of the risks contained in the salam contract itself.
