Abstract

The development of UMKM in Indonesia has experienced significant growth. On January 2, 2023, the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) launched a free halal certification program in Indonesia to support UMKM operators and promote growth. One of the UMKM driving the economy in Indonesia, particularly in the food products sector, plays a crucial role. In an effort to enhance independence and awareness of halal products, on Friday (March 15, 2024), the Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH) of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) opened on-the-spot halal certification registration services at 405 locations across 27 provinces in Indonesia. Muhammad Aqil Irham, along with the Halal Task Force and local stakeholders, visited business operators in busy areas, especially UMKM, to assist with the halal certification of their products. The activities are divided into three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The preparation stage includes focus group discussions as part of preliminary surveys to assess the community's and UMKM' understanding of halal. The implementation stage involves direct participation in training sessions on various halal product themes using presentation techniques. Additionally, the government provides online registration options through the Cerol SS23000 form or the SIHALAL application. Each stage of the activity is evaluated by collecting and summarizing data from each phase, which serves as a data foundation for the continuity of activities and their development in Indonesia.
