This study aims to analyze and compare Islamic economic institutions in Malaysia and Australia from a global perspective, focusing on how both countries have developed Islamic financial systems despite differences in social, legal, and economic structures. Malaysia is known as a leading pioneer in developing the Islamic economy through an integrated institutional system, strong regulations, and comprehensive support in education and research. On the other hand, Australia, despite not being a country with a Muslim majority, has shown significant progress through an adaptive approach that emphasizes inclusivity, public education, and innovative policies to integrate Islamic principles into the conventional economic system. Using qualitative literature analysis methods, this study found that success in strengthening the Islamic economy depends on the synergy between regulation, institutional governance, human resources, and technological support. Reflections from this comparison provide important implications for Indonesia, highlighting the need to strengthen Islamic economic institutions that focus not only on sharia compliance but also on sustainability, inclusivity, and global competitiveness.
